International Student Insurance Requirements for Florida Gulf Coast University

If you are an international student at Florida Gulf Coast University, then you will be required to have medical insurance the entire period you are enrolled. Your school requires that this medical insurance policy meet a number of requirements, and you’ll be required to present proof of coverage before you are able to register for classes.

Our Student Health plan will meet Florida Gulf Coast’s health insurance requirements at the Select and Elite levels. Florida Gulf Coast’s health insurance plan is a great option, but rates can go up to $2,362 for one year of coverage.

For an international student aged 18 to 24 years old, the prices on the Student Secure plan are as follows:

  • Select level – $94 for one month or $1,066 for one year – a savings of $1,296!
  • Elite level – $169 for one month or $1,961 for one year – a savings of $401!

Your insurance must be in effect as of August 19, 2019 (for fall semester 2019) and January 6, 2020 (for spring and spring/summer semesters 2020) and throughout your continuous enrollment at Florida Gulf Coast University. 

Deadline to submit international student medical insurance compliance form:

  • For Fall 2019 Semester: AUG 1, 2019 
  • For Spring and Spring/Summer 2020 Semester: DEC 1, 2019
