International scholars and exchange visitors at Midland University are required to purchase a medical insurance plan for their time abroad. The Student Secure and Atlas Travel plans both serve as excellent options, providing comprehensive coverage at reasonable rates.

The Student Secure plan is available in four levels for J-1 visa holders, with all levels meeting the US Department of State requirements. The plan offers additional coverage for mental health, along with coverage for maternity and pre-existing conditions after applicable waiting periods on certain levels of the plan.

The Atlas Travel plan is compliant with the US Department of State requirements for J visa holders, please make sure to choose a policy maximum of $100,000 or greater and a deductible of $500 or less to meet these requirements.
