Finland Student Insurance Plans
On the 1st September 2007 the Finnish Government put into force new regulations for international students studying in Finland requiring them to have adequate international health insurance while they are studying in Finland. These new international student insurance regulation for Finland are currently set out as:
- Students who stay in Finland less than two years - these students must have a health insurance whose policy covers treatment and medication costs up to 100,000 euros.
- Students who stay in Finland a minimum of two years - these students must have a health insurance whose policy covers treatment and medication costs up to 30,000 euros.

The Student Secure provides monthly student health insurance with higher benefits when compared to the Atlas International. The plan is payable monthly when you apply online with your credit or debit card, otherwise you will need to prepay for your full coverage period.

The Atlas International provides travel/ health coverage for anyone when abroad. The plan will meet all requirements for Finland, however you need to prepay for the whole period you need coverage for.
Benefits of the plan include:
- Coverage from 5 days up to 1 year (renewable to 3 years)
- Hospitalization, Doctors Visits, Prescriptions
- Optional Sports Coverage
- $50,000 to $1,000,000 Policy Maximum

How to apply for coverage?
You can apply for coverage in a number of ways:
Online - both plans can be purchased online with either a dedit or credit card, documents will be issued right away to your email address so you can quickly show proof of coverage for your visa.

Fax/ Email - if you do not have a credit card please download our application, complete it and either fax or email your application to us

How can I pay for coverage?
If you have a credit card, you can apply quickly and easily online through our website. If you do not have a credit card you can pay by bank transfer - simply complete an application and mail, email or fax it to us, making sure to indicate you wish to pay by bank transfer. We will process the application and contact you to send over the funds.
Which plan is right for me?
If you are trying to work out what plan is right for you - both insurance options will meet the insurance requirements laid out by the Finnish Government. If you want to have a better health insurance plan that provides greater coverage the Student Secure is your best option - plus it offers easy monthly payments. If you just want to comply with the insurance regulations then the Atlas International will be your best option.
