With the new year just around the corner, it’s an excellent time to renew your coverage before it expires, or to purchase a new plan if needed.

 Along with our commitment to providing the very best international student insurance plans, we are also dedicated to improving the resources that we offer to both schools and students. As part of this effort, we have been working in collaboration with the Rape, Assault, & Incest National Network (RAINN) to offer a Sexual Assault Training Program that colleges and universities around the USA can implement to help educate international students about sexual assault. As part of the training program we worked with international students, just like you, to put together this excellent video on the cultural views of sexual assault from around the world.

Lots of international students who come to study in the USA will be asking themselves the question “Do I need an ACA compliant insurance plan when I study in the USA.” The short answer to this question is no! International students holding an F, J, Q or M visa are exempt from the Affordable Care Act (commonly known as Obamacare) for up to 5 calendar years while in the USA. This can be confusing for some students, as their school might require that they purchase an ACA compliant plan, however, this is the school’s choice to enforce that requirement.
