International travel medical insurance is designed to cover anyone traveling outside their home country, including spouses and children. While each plan has its own eligibility requirements, most plans require you to be traveling outside of your home country to be initially eligible. There is no student requirement, so it works well for travelers, families, students, J visa holders, OPT students, faculty, and staff.

These plans are designed to cover medical treatment for accidents and illnesses that happen while on the plan, including emergency medical evacuation and repatriation of remains.
Is COVID-19 Covered?
All plans sold online through International Student Insurance cover COVID-19 the same as any other illness. While the plans will not cover preventative testing, it will cover the medical treatment of COVID-19 as long as it was not contracted before the start of your insurance, and not excluded by any other exclusion.
